Funeral services for George was held Tuesday, October 28th at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Fr. Kevin Maksym officiating. Lux Funeral Home, Alma. A prayer service was held Monday evening with Deacon John Cremin presiding.

George was born the son of Charles N. and Jennie Mae (Quinlan) Burt. He served in the Marines during WWII enlisting on May 15, 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He married Anne "Betty" Graziano on October 28, 1945 in Queens, New York and together they raised five children.
George moved to Alma with his family 50 years ago and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a life member of the Alma VFW Post 1454 and Alma Elks Lodge #1400. George thoroughly enjoyed sharing his walnuts with his family and neighbors which he harvested from trees he planted many years ago.
He is survived by his wife Betty, five children, Irene (Keith) O'Boyle of Alma, Donald (Catherine) Burt of Alma, Virginia (Tony) Boyle of Highland, Mi., James (Deborah) Burt of Alma and Mary Jo (Troy) Jones of St. Louis. Also thirteen grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, two sisters, Dorothy Schoenholz of Daykin, Nebraska and Maude Munoz of Bruning, Nebraska and a brother, Charles N. Burt of Fresno, California.
George was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters, Thelma Gewacke, Faye Vostrez, Mary Vostrez, Myna Long and Rose Burt and two brothers, Art and James Burt.
