Elliott Allison

Elliott Allison, 71, of Alum Bank R. D., died of a heart attack at 4 p.m. Tuesday at New Baltimore. He was stricken fatally while unloading apples from his truck at the Hankinson Cidar Mill.

Mr. Allison, well known as a farmer and real estate dealer had taken a load of apples to the cider press early in the afternoon. He was feeding them into a spout when he was stricken.

The local man sold farm produce in Johnstown for 27 years. He owned a large amount of property in Bedford, Cambria and Somerset Counties.

He was born at Pavia on March 13, 1875, a son of Hugh and Harriet (Croyle) Allison. He and the former Maggie Mae Ickes were married Sept. 12, 1897. They had lived on the same farm here for the past 47 years.

Besides the widow, he leaves three children--Russell Allison, Alum Bank, R. D.; Glenn Allison, Beaverdale, and Mrs. Marie Mickle, Windber. There are 12 grandchildren and these six brothers and sisters; Charles Allison, Freemont, O., Thomas Allison, Johnstown; Arthur Allison, Queer; Mrs. Stewart Mock and Mrs. David Brown, both of Alum Bank and Mrs. Harvey Ickes, Weyant.

The Geisel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
