Daniel Edgar Crume was one of the first surveyors of Kentucky in 1782-1783. He owned land in Washington County, Kentucky, Butler County, Ohio and Decatur County, Indiana where he died. He was married twice plus had a common-law "frontier marriage" in-between the two marriages. First he married Mary Dodson in 1782 in Dumfries Parish, Prince William, Virginia. Daniel and Mary Dodson Crume had three daughters and a son:

Mary (Abt 1782-1783)
Susannah (1782-1865), married Jessie Weathers
Ruth Crume (1785-1819), married Philip C. Birkhead
Daniel Mark Crume (1790-1859)

Then he entered into a common-law marriage with Mary Ada Lincoln in 1791, in Breckenridge county, Kentucky. Daniel and Mary Ada Lincoln had two daughters:

Sarah "Sallie" (1792-1879), married James Hasty
Elizabeth W. (1794-1880), married Robert Davis

Lastly, upon separating from Mary Lincoln, he married Hannah Springer on Jan 12, 1801 in Washington county, Kentucky. Daniel and Hannah Springer Crume had the following children:
