Marie was born in the Valley View Community, Mitchell County, Texas on October 10, 1911, to Joe and Roxie (Hagler) Johnson.
Marie married John Morgan Hale on June 27, 1943. They lived in the Brown Community of Martin County, Texas until moving to Big Spring, Texas in 1962. Marie and John moved to Llano, Texas in 1989. Marie was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Marie was preceded in death by John on July 11, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mildred Johnson Smith; and one sister in infancy. She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Hale, of Llano and her niece Sylvia (Sissy) Jones and husband Jeff of Big Spring. Also surviving are great-nephew Carey Jones and wife Tonda of Lubbock; great-niece Chrissi Jones of Lubbock; and great-great nephews, Caleb Jones and Cason Jones of Lubbock.
Pallbearers will be Joaquin Barraza, Robin Barraza, Derwood Blagrave, Robert Cox, Junior Ringener, and Denis Long.
