Chico Enterprise-Record, Tuesday, November 10, 1959, p. 2: "William McClard. Word was received here today of the death in Quincy of William Bruce McClard, 81, formerly in the grocery business here. Mr. McClard died yesterday after having been ill since August. He was reared in Chico and was graduated from Chico Normal School. In 1906 he was a partner in a grocery business under the name Taber and McClard. He had been a Quincy resident for the past year. Most of his life was spent in Oroville where he worked in the county's purchasing department. Mr. McClard also taught school for a few years in the Capay district. He was a frequent visitor to Chico where he has relatives. Survivors include his wife, Gertie Henderson McClard, of Quincy, and two sons, Bruce and Alan. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Quincy. Interment will also be there.
