Isaac Hostetler Another old resident of New Hamburg passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 11th, in the person of Mr. Isaac Hostetler, at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 28 days. He was a son of the late Moses Hostetler and was born on the old Hostetler homestead on Snyder's Road. He was married to Miss Lydia Zimmerman in 1872, and farmed for several years in Wellesley township. Later he moved to East Zorra, where he continued farming. Shortly after the death of his wife about nine years ago, he retired and came to New Hamburg. About eight years ago he suffered a paralytic stroke and has since been semi-helpless. He was in poor health for the past few months and his death was not unexpected. He was of a very cheerful disposition and had a large circle of friends and was widely known and highly respected. He leaves to mourn his loss two daughters and three sons, namely, (Sarah) Mrs. John Hiller, of New Hamburg; (Maggie) Mrs. John Hunsberger, of Baden; Nelson, of Ceylon, Sask.; Edwin, of Winnipeg, and Oliver, of Elkton, Mich. Besides he is survived by 5 brothers, Messrs. Henry, Christian, David, Levi and Daniel, and two sisters, Mrs. Solomon Shantz and Mrs. Emanuel Hamacher. The funeral will take place at 1 o'clock on Sunday afternoon to Hostetler's Church and Cemetery on Snyder's Road.
