MRS. MARY E. MATTINGLY DIES IN LITTLE ROCK, ARK. Mrs. Mary E. Mattingly, 77, widow of the late Prof. Thomas W. Mattingly, former teacher at St. Mary's College, died Wednesday morning at 8 o'clock at her home in Little Rock, Ark. She was a native of this county, but had made her home in Little Rock for the past forty years. Mrs. Mattingly was a daughter of Dr. W. R. O'Bryan and Mrs. Ellen Ballard O'Bryan, long deceased, and was born at Loretto. Following her marriage, the couple made their home on High Street in this city for a time and later moved to a farm on the St. Mary Highway near town. Her husband taught at St. Mary and, afterwards, in this city. Later, he served as editor of The Enterprise, before leaving Lebanon for Arkansas. Of the fourteen children born to the union, twelve survive. Three daughters are members of the Loretto Order and two are Sisters of Mercy. Mrs. Mattingly was a double first cousin of Miss Mary Belle Ballard and Miss Maggie Ballard of this city. Several other relatives reside in the Loretto section. Funeral and burial services will be held in Little Rock today.
