Thomas E. Cox was born Apr 13, 1842 in Limestone Co., Al. and died Mar 29, 1911 in Lafayette Co., Ar.. He married his brother's widow, Mary Ann (Jackson) Cox, daughter of William Jackson and Minerva Shores, about 1865 in Limestone Co., Al.. They lived in Alabama for a few years and had one child there, Amanda Cox, but moved back to Lafayette Co., Ar. before their second child, Charity, was born. Mary Ann (Jackson) Cox was born about 1842 in Limestone Co. Al. and died around 1905 in Lafayette Co., Ar.. Both Thomas and Mary Ann are buried at Mt. Nebo Cemetery in Hempstead Co., Ar..
NOTE: After looking at all the census from 1850 through 1910, one would conclude that Thomas E. Cox was not born in 1839 as shown on his tombstone.
Mary Ann's tombstone has no dates, only that she died at age 73. This is impossible since she died before 1910. She was likely 63 years old at time of death.
