Memorial services are 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Church of the Nazarene, with private family inurnment in Moore Cemetery. Cremation has taken place. Cloyd Funeral Home & Cremation Service is handling arrangements.
She was born April 12, 1926 in Bozeman, Montana, to John W. and Lillian E. (Mieras) Kemp. They made their home in Lewistown, and she received her education in Lewistown, graduating from Fergus County High School in 1944.
She attended St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing for about one year before marrying and settling down to raise her family. On Oct. 6, 1945, Rosanna was united in marriage to John L. Ihde at St. James Episcopal Church in Lewistown. Together they raised eight children and were married nearly 61 years before John's passing on March 5, 2006.
Throughout her life, Rosanna worked in food service for St. Joseph Hospital and later at Valle Vista Manor.
Rosanna loved doing needlework and other craft projects. She knitted, crocheted, embroidered and made a huge doll house from cardboard furniture boxes. She also enjoyed stamping and making greeting cards. She crocheted 150 afghans, which she gifted to her family and friends, in her later years. She enjoyed reading, watching TV, visiting with friends, and was an outstanding cook.
She is survived by her eight children: David (Cindy) Ihde, of Opp, AL, Fred Ihde, of Daly City, CA, Rick (Esther) Ihde, of Orlando, FL, Leanna Ihde, of Lewistown, Carol (John) Harwood, of Joliet, IL, Mary Ihde, of North Fort Myers, FL, Janet (Jerry) Grinder, of Cut Bank, and Becky (Stan) Burow, of Great Falls; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, John Kemp and Lee Kemp.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and one grandson.
Friends are asked to make memorials to the Central Montana Hospice House, Moore Cemetery or the charity of their choice, and they may be left at the Cloyd Funeral Home.
