Ethel Pratt was never too busy to help out in sickness and in death. She was the first to arrive and do the "dirty" work flaunting if any one tried to thank her. From her kitchen comes mounds of goodies from hot plump loaves of bread to cakes, pies, pickles, jelly and preserves.

A frequent visitor at hospital and nursing homes, she is the favorite visitor. "I'd rather go to church than eat," Mrs. Pratt always said.

They ran stores in Eliasville, South Bend, Graham, Woodson, Newcastle and Jean. She retired and moved to Graham in 1960. She was a member of the Eastside church of Christ.

Survivors: daughter - Motee Ragle of Graham; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Ethel Pratt was such a dear lady. I still have recordings of her reading her poems and playing the organ. I have a video tape of her explaining her early life to school children. She was such a delight.
