Vade G Hendershot died Wednesday 08 April 1981 in Lindsborg Community Hospital after an extended illness, at the age of 87 years 11 months 26 days. Born 13 April 1893, the son of George and Louisa Ashcraft Hendershot. He married Bertha Forney 11 December 1919, and the couple had three children. He married Lulu Urton in August 1954. Vade was a retired farmer and for a number of years he managed the Rodney Elevator at Langley. He served in World War I and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his widow, Lulu; one son Marvin of Salina; one daughter, Vada Carlson of Marquette; one sister, Eula Shigley, Oak View, Calif.; five grand children and sixteen great grand children.
Services 2 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in Marquette with the Rev. Robert Stout officiating. American Legion committal services were at Langley Cemetery.
