Melissa A. English, 53, of New Castle died early Wednesday morning, March 10th, 2010 at her home following an extended illness.
She was born April 4th, 1957 in Rushville, and was the daughter of Betty Jo (Smith) English and the late Raymond English.
She was a former employee of the Modernfold Corp. of New Castle, where she worked over 10 years. She later was employed by the Chrysler Corp. of New Castle.
Melissa was a member of the Wiley United Methodist Church of New Castle. She loved to read and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, Jeremy Brown of New Castle; her mother, Betty Jo English of New Castle; two grandchildren, Trenton and Teagan Brown of New Castle; one brother, Kurt English of New Castle and special friend, Gregory Brown of Anderson. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald English in 2001 and by her grandmother, Florence Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Wiley United Methodist Church in New Castle with Reverend Ralph Newkirk officiating. Burial will follow in the South Mound Cemetery, Westlawn Addition. Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the church. Main & Davis Funeral Home, Broad St. Chapel in New Castle is in charge of the arrangements.
