Mary Hannah Beck (Hannah Maria Bjorkbacka) was the daughter of Victor Bjorkbacka (Beck) and Hilma Kangas Beck of Finland. Hannah was born in Finland and came to the United States with her father and mother as a child. She married Ernest Victor Lehto and had four children who contributed to this country through service and hard work. In addition, she and Ernest raised her younger sister, Kathleen who was orphaned before she was the age of five.

Hannah was known in the family for her strong ethics, common sense, and love of unsweet tea that had to be made fresh every morning. She had "sisu," a Finnish word for strong will and determination and passed it on to all of us, probably. Rest peacefully, "Ma Hannah."
