O. P. Benson Dies; Final Rites Pending Oscar Phillip Benson, 67, 2505 @nd Ave. S, a retired operation engine died Monday night at a local hospital. Funeral arrangments are pending at Croxfords.
Benson was born May 26, 1889 in Wilkin county, Minn. He came to Great Falls in 1926 and for 10 years prior to his retirement was an operating engineer at Malmstrom Air Force Base.
Survivors include his widow, Ada Benson of Great Falls, a stepdaughter, Mrs. Beatrice Shumate of Great Falls, a stepson, Archie F. Brown of Twin Falls, Idaho, five grandchildren, a great grandchild, sister Mrs. William Petron of Kelliher, Minn., Mrs Orville Hastings of Rock Falls, Ill; Mrs. George Caliebe of Greenwood, Wis., and Mrs. George Wallace of Seattle; brothers, Carl Benson of Moses Lake, Was., Waldermer Benson of Pasco, Wash., and Walter Benson of Great Falls and a sister in law, Mrs. Elmer Benson of Great Falls.
