He married Betty Hunsinger on March 16, 1946, in Lovington.
He had resided in Hobbs since August 1946, moving from Kermit, Texas. He moved to Lubbock in September 1989.
He is survived by his wife of the home; two daughters, Beverly Nix of Sherman Oaks, Calif., and Mrs. Tommy Redford and her husband of Lubbock, Texas; and granddaughters, Julie and Jennifer Redford of Lubbock.
He was preceded in death by one son, Glen Franklin Nix, on August 8, 1975.
