Rites Held Yesterday For Frederick H. Voland
Funeral services were held Wednesday for Frederick H. Voland, 78, who died at his home Sunday night. He had been ill for many years.
The services were conducted at the St. Peter's Evangelical and Reformed church by the Rev. M. L. Worthman. Burial was made in the Rockville cemetery.
Born September 10, 1877, at Thiensville, the son of Frederick and Theodora Struppert Voland, the family located on a farm near Kiel when he was four years of age. He attended school at Kiel, including high school. March 12, 1902, he was married to Miss Dora Pingel of Schleswig and they operated the Pingel homestead farm near Rockville until their retirement in 1942 when they moved to Kiel. The couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1952.
Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Henry Kuester, R. 2, Kiel, and Mrs. Alvin Thielen of Manitowoc; a son, Roy, on the homestead farm; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Adela Raquet, R. 2, Kiel, and a brother, Philip of Los Angeles, California.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers
