CLARA VOGEL

Mrs. Clara Vogel, 63, of Rt. 1, Kiel, died early Thursday morning at Sheboygan Memorial Hospital following an illness of four months.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter United Church of Christ, Kiel, with the Rev. Vernon E. Jaberg officiating. Burial will be in Schleswig Cemetery, Rockville.
She was born May 21, 1899, in the Town of Wilson, Sheboygan County, daughter of the late Peter and Apollonia Zimmermann Schmitt. The family moved into the Town of Rhine. She was married Dec. 8, 1917, to Alvin Vogel.
The couple lived for a time at Steinthal and moved to the farm in the Town of Eaton in 1937. Her husband preceded her in death in October of 1955. She was a member of her church.
Among survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Leroy Jakum and Mrs. Edgar Pohland of Sheboygan; three brothers, Albert and Elmer of Kiel and Herbert of Rt. 1, Elkhart Lake; six sisters, Mrs. Roland Westphalen of Rt. 1, Kiel, Mrs. Walter Vogel of St. Nazianz, Mrs. Herbert Schwartz of Rt. 2, Kiel, Mrs. Elmer Hermann of Sheboygan, Mrs. Leon Roeck of Kiel and Mrs. Eugene Mathes of Rt. 1, Plymouth. A son and sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Meiselwitz Funeral Home, Kiel, until 11 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be moved to the church and the body will lie in state until time of service. - October 4, 1962
