Cooper Review-Thursday, February 17, 1972- Gabe C. Thompson, 94, a long time resident of Delta County, died Thursday, Feb. 10, about 8:30 p.m. at his home in Cooper. He was born in Monroe County Mississippi November 1, 1877, the son of Thomas Franklin and Mary (Parham) Thompson. Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, the former Laura L. (Harris) Thompson, whom he married March 21, 1899 here; two sons, Lawrence Thompson of Cooper and Lebert Thompson of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nine daughters, Mrs. Jessie Haltom of Cooper, Mrs. Maggie Howard, Mrs. Esther Langford, Mrs. Mary Jo Richardson, all of Dallas, Mrs. Agnes Mullican of Colorado, Mrs. Bertie Lee of Houston, Mrs. Thelma Miles, Mrs. Gaynell Philben of Waco and Mrs. Verna Robertson of Denton; a sister, Mrs. Clementine Clifton of Amarillo and 42 other descendants in three generations. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Delta Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Dennis Lake and Rev. Richard Tatum officiating. Internment was made in the Lake Creek Cemetery, under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
