She was born April 29, 1926, in Decatur, the daughter of Lee and Claude Carter Cantwell. She married Forrest W. Haines in 1949 in Mattoon; he preceded her in death in 2000.
Survivors: a daughter and a stepsister, Ramona Gebhardt of Mattoon.
