HOPKINSVILLE - Philp Bruce Sampson, 50, died Monday, Oct. 19, 2009 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.
Born in Greenville April 9, 1959, he was the son of the late Calvin Earl Sampson and Mildred Beadnell Sampson. He was a self-employed painter and had been a coal miner. He was a disabled veteran, having served in the Army between 1984 and 1985. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Lynn Sampson, and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Gail "Rose" Sampson.
Survivors include his wife of seven years, Brenda Gail Walker Sampson of Hopkinsville; a son, Joshua Sampson Brand of Lexington; a daughter, Christina Nichole Sampson of IL.; a grandson, Jackson Brand of Lexington; a sister, Mary H. Moore of Greenville; and three brothers, Kenneth F. Sampson of Greenville, Charles R. Sampson of Central City and Howard G. Sampson of Nortonville.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Oct. 21 at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville with Larry Perkins officiating. Burial followed in Graham Hill Cemetery in Graham.
