EVA FALLIS GORDON passed away on March 11, 2010. Born in Houston, Texas on November 26, 1917 to Issador and Mary Fallis she was married for 45 years to the late Morris Gordon. She was a member of Congregation Beth Israel. She worked for many years in retail at Quaint Corner and at Michael Whitmire's hair salons where everyone she met became a friend. Her parents, sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and Joe Lowenstein of Port Arthur, Texas, and her Granddaughter, Ellaine Beth Lewis, precede her in her death. "Nana" as she was affectionately known, greatest joys was her family and friends. Fiercely independent, she was always ready for anything involving her friends or family. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws Millicent and David Lewis and Pam and Philip Warner of Houston and her grandchildren and their spouses: Greg and Susan Lewis of Houston, Zach and Christina Ivanhoe and Todd and Christina Ivanhoe of Phoenix, AZ and her great-grandchildren Ella and Jake Lewis, Austin and Blake Ivanhoe and Hannah Ivanhoe. Never wanting to be a burden, at her request, a family burial will be held on March 14, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Beth Yeshurun cemetery at Post Oak and Old Katy Road and will be officiated by Rabbi David A. Lyon, Senior Rabbi of Congregation Beth Israel. The family would like to thank her many kind caregivers and the staff and directors at the Hampton Tanglewood. Charitable donations in her memory may be made to Jewish Family Service at 4131 S. Braeswood, Houston, TX 77025 (www.jfshouston.org) or the charity of your choice.
