Miss Mary Virginia Lyddane, daughter of Mrs. Ira Hall of Germantown, Md. and Mr. Thomas Gordon Darby, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph M. Darby of Dawsonville, Md., were married Saturday afternoon in the home of the bride's mother in the presence of a small company of relatives and friends. The Rev. G. G. Kundahl, pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Neelsville, officiated. ...Following a reception, the young couple departed for a short trip. Upon their return, they will take up their residence at Silver Spring, Md.

Mr. Thomas Gordon Darby Sr., 74, of 15225 Partnership Road, Poolesville, died Thursday, June 4 at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital.
He was the husband of Maude G. Darby. Born in Poolesville, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary Chiswell Darby.
Mr. Darby was a veteran of World War II and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of the Monocacy Lions Club and the Darnestown Presbyterian Church.
Surviving besides his wife are one son, Thomas Gordon Darby Jr. of Poolesville, and Mary Jo Morris, of California. Also surviving are three sisters, Reno Penn, of Clinton, Ethel Herrmann of Silver Spring, and Lutie Cult of North Carolina; five grandchildren, Pala Schrader, Alita Darby, Mahlen Morris, Thomas Darby III, and Clark Morris; one great grandchild, Steven Darby.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, June 6 and Sunday June 7 at the Hilton Funeral Home, 22111 Beallsville Road, Barnesville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday June 8 at Darnestown Presbyterian Church, Route 28, Darnestown. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
