Carey Otis Yopps, 71-year-old county farmer, died at his home here Thursday, December 19, at 3:30 pm.  He had been a resident of this county for the last 40 years. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Baptist Churcs, with Rev Howard Jones, pastor, in charge. Pallbearers were nephews. Burial was in the South Fairview Wellington cemetery with the Ellis Funeral Home in charge.

Mr Yopp was born January 28, 1875 in Tennessee and at the time of his death he was 71 years, 10 months and 21 days of age. He was the son of a pioneer Tennessee family, both his parents, M. and Margaret Ann Phillips Yopp, having been born there.  Mr Yopp had farmed during the many years he had lived here. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving arc; six brothers and sisters, Jim Yopp, Jess Yopp and Mrs Jerry Philips of Wellington, Ernie Yopp of Clayton, NM, John Yopp of Santa Anna, CA and Mrs Morritt Corbin of McLean. Twenty-five nephews and nieces also survive.
