The Wellington Leader July 13, 1967

Mrs. Sadie Holland, who had lived here continuously for 54 years, died in Thomas Nursing Home at 1:05 p.m. Friday, July 7. She had been in failing health for a number of months and critically ill several weeks. She was 84 years of age.

The former Sadie Florence Parsons, she was born Feb. 17, 1883 at Bonita, the daughter of Andy and Charlotte Irwin Parsons. She was married to M. J. Holland Nov. 26, 1900 in Montague County, where they
lived until moving to Wellington. Mr. Holland preceed her in death August 17, 1928.

Early in life she became a member of the Church of Christ and throughout her active years she did much work in its behalf. Her interest in its welfare and its activities remained strong to the end of her life.

Surviving Mrs. Holland are three daughters and a son: Mrs. Grace Wilson, Mrs. Lola Rummell and M. J. Holland of Wellington, and Mrs. Annalee Spencer of Phoenix, Ariz.

Other survivors are a half-brother, George Garletts of Amarillo, 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

A son, Oscar Andy Holland "Buster", preceded her in death in 1955 in California.
