The Wellington Leader November 7, 1929

Murder has been suspected in the sudden death of C. E. Aldridge formerly of Wellington, who was found dead in Pampa Tuesday morning. Relatives in Wellington are unable to give any particulars of his death at this time, however, when the Goodson ambulance arrived at Pampa to take charge of the body it was being held by authorities there who are investigating the death and murder was being hinted. The body was not released by the Pampa officers until Wednesday. Funeral services have been arranged for Thursday to be conducted in Wellington with interment in the local cemetery. Mr. Aldridge is well known to the people of Wellington and Collingsworth County, having been reared here and having made his home in this county until recently. Ho is survived by his wife and two children who are C. E. Jr., and Marceline. He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Aldridge who reside near Wellington, and by the following brothers and sisters: Ray Aldridge, Jewell Aldridge, Kern Aldridge, W. D. Aldridge, Jr., Bertie Aldridge, and Novela Aldridge, all of whom aro well known in this section. Mr. Aldridge waa 33 years of age. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
