LONGTIME GREAT FALLS COUPLE EDNA AND EDWARD OMHOLT

Edna M. and Edward M. Omholt, both 80, of 319 5th St. SW, died of heart failure Friday at local hospitals. Edward Omholt died shortly after learning of his wife's death.

At their request, no public services will be held. Entombment has taken place with Croxford & Sons Funeral Home handling arrangements.

She was born March 28, 1915, in England, and raised in the Great Falls area. She worked at Buttrey and the Paris department store as a sales clerk for many years.

Omholt was born Aug.8, 1914, in Great Falls, and attended local schools. During World War II he served in the U.S.Navy as a chief petty officer. After the war he was employed at several local stores, including Ryans as a produce manager.

In 1936 they were married in Lewistown. They owned and operated Eggerts Grocery on the Great Falls West Side for many years. They enjoyed many activites together, including reading, watching television and helping people.

Edna Omholt is survived by a brother, David Carlson of Belt. Her husband is survived by a brother, E.V."Sonny" Omholt of Helena.

"The only time they were ever apart was during World War II. I guess you can say he died of a broken heart," Sonny Omholt said Friday.
