John S. Dollar,98, of Buffalo Township, died Friday,Feb.26, 2010 in Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights,Pennsylvania. He was born Aug. 5, 1911, in Dawson, son of the late Alexander and Elizabeth (Sloan)Dollar. He lived the past 10 years in Buffalo Township, prior to which he resided in Fawn Township. He was a Federal Mine Inspector with Mine Safety & Health Administration for 10 years, prior to which he was a Mine Foreman in West Virginia for 25 years. He was of Presbyterian Faith and was a member of the Tarentum Elks and Eagles and a social member of the American Legion. He enjoyed tracking the stock market, was a private pilot, built his fishing boat, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and many hobbies. Survivors incllude his daughter, Joan Bauer, of Pittsburg; sons, John S. "Jack" (Elaine) Dollar, of West Virgina, James (Judy) Dollar, of Bellavista, Ark., and Thomas C. Dollar, of Rochester,NY.;stepchildren, Regina (Ronald)Rearick, of North Carolina, Paula Kamiinski, of Brackenridge, Louis (Elaine)Kaminski, of Maryland, Constance (Raymond)Thorpe, of Tarentum, John (Amy)Kaminski, of Fawn Township, Johnna (Rick)Tater, of Kentucky, and Michael (Lori)Kaminski, fo Arnold; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren: 12 stepgrandchildren; and five stepgreat grandchildren. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathryn (Conroy) Dollar, in 1974; second wife, Gladys E. (Maughan) Kaminski, in 2006; two brothers, Robert and Alex Dollar; four sisters Margaret, Annie, Helen and Jean; and two infant children.
