Mrs. Lura Mae Lynes of Augusta, GA has stepped out of this life into eternity Friday, March 12, 2010, at University Hospital. Lura Mae, 82, is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Col. Marvis F. Lynes (Ret) of Augusta.
Lura Mae was a native of Bald Knob, West Virginia, however, had resided in Augusta for the past 35 years. She was a member of Grace Fellowship of Augusta.
Lura Mae's life was dedicated to her family and her devotion to our Lord Jesus Christ. She is also survived by two sisters, Mary Stevenson of N.C. and Gloria Jean White of W. VA. Her immediate family are William M. Lynes and wife Merry Beth of Chicago, IL, Patricia A. Yates and husband Jay of Augusta, Beverly J. Richards of Saudi Arabia, Richard D. Lynes of Augusta, James A. Lynes and wife Lynette of W. VA. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Grace Fellowship of Augusta, 1725 Sibley Road, with Rev. Wade Trimmer officiating. Lura Mae was entombed in Bellevue Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers were her grandsons.
