US Navy Veteran of WWII

Richard G. Lambert, 74, of 1601 Hillcrest Drive, North Manchester, died Jan. 24, 1997 at his residence. He was a San Francisco resident from 1945-1978, and North Manchester since 1978. He was born July 25, 1922 at North Manchester to Riley and Ina (Rinehart) Lambert, both deceased. He married Ann M. Parker July 6, 1968 and she survives.

Mr. Lambert was an electrical engineer, having been employed with Pacific Gas & Electric for 30 years. He also worked with REMC, Wabash for seven years. He was a graduate of Central High School, North Manchester and a member of American Legion Post #286, North Manch-ester.

He attended Manchester Bible Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors in addition to his wife are a son Robert Chandler of Indianapolis; daughters Inell Lambert and Laura Lambert, both of California; a grandson, Quentin Chandler of Indianapolis; a brother Max Lambert of North Manchester; sisters Mrs. Milton (Lorelia) Greathouse of Wabash, Mrs. Rosie Winger of Ft. Wayne, and Mrs. Stanley (Beverly) Schnepp of Urbana; and one grandchild. One brother preceded him in death.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Jan. 28, at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary with the Rev. David Erdman officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to the Heart Disease Research Foundation. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
