She was married to John Richard Babb on Jan. 3, 1875 in Virginia. To this union five children were born. She and her family moved from Virginia to Arkansas and from thence to Seattle, Wash. Later they came east to Revenwood, Mo. and in 1911 moved to Ottawa county, Kansas where she since made her home. Her husband, one daughter, one son and two grandchildren preceded, her in death. She is survived by two sons, Charles N. Babb of Brooklyn, N. Y., Frank G. Babb, of Wichita, Kansas; one daughter, Mrs. J. J. Wolfe of Minneapolis, Kansas; eighteen grandchildren; twenty greatgrandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers, Hiram Slagle of Hereford, Texas, and Manson Slagle of Pennington Gap, Va., and one sister, Mrs. Nancy O. Bannon of Stanberry, Missouri.
She confessed her belief in God in, December, 1884, joining the Methodist church of Worth, Mo.
She was a loving mother, always being most concerned for those about her. She loved to read her Bible as long as her sight permitted it. Mrs, Babb had been bedfast for over two years.
The funeral was held from the Fouts Mortuary on Tuesday afternoon at 2:3;0 with Rev. Wm. Little of the Methodist church in charge. Music was furnished, by Mrs. F. G. Cromley. Burial was in Highland cemetery.
Pallbearers were F. E. Pierce, Ward Ayers, Lloyd Smith, Harlan Smith, Earl Jamison and Leonard Somers.
