LE ROY - (PSN) Dexter Hart, 37, who was severely burned June 27, died at 1:40 a. m. Tuesday (July 5, 1960) at St. Joseph Hospital, Bloomington. Mr. Hart was burned on the upper part of his body when flames burst from his automobile engine as he attempted to prime the carburetor with gasoline. He was taken to the Stensel Funeral Home. An inquest was set for July 13 there by County Coroner Curtis Gilberts. The funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Stensel's, with the Rev. Bruce Badger officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Mr Hart was born March 19, 1923, in Russell Springs, Ky., a son of Elihu E. and Sarah E. Smith Hart, and had lived in LeRoy since about 1930. He married Helen R. Taylor Feb. 10, 1949, in Normal. Surviving are the wife: two daughters, Carmen and Patricia; seven brothers, Freeman, Anderson, Ind., Esco, Russell Springs, Ky.; Dewey, Oval and Edison, LeRoy; Ruel, Bloomington; and Carlie, Ormond Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Lester Brittin, LeRoy, and Mrs. Wayne Sparks, Bloomington. He was preceeded in death by his parents and two brothers. Mr. Hart was a veteran of World War 11 and a member of the LeRoy Bethel Church.
