Mrs. Missouri Elizabeth Reed, 81 year old citizen of this county, died at the home of her son, Z.W. Larkin, on Doe Run Valley Monday night.
Mrs. Reed, nee Cundiff, was born in Jefferson County in 1849. She was united in marriage to Sampson S. Larkin in 1870.
To this union nine children were born, four of whom are still living. Those living are: A.A. Larkin of St. Louis; D.C. Larkin and Z.W. Larkin of Doe Run Valley; and Mrs. J.M. Abshier of Detroit, Mich.
Mr. Larkin died in 1885. In 1890 she was married to W.H. Reed who also preceded her in death by many years.
Mrs. Reed was known as "Grandma" Reed to nearly everyone in the county.
The funeral services were held at the Doe Run Church Tuesday afternoon and interment was made at the cemetery there.
