Donald E. Bethel, 78, of 4144 10th Street died of a heart ailment December 19, 1996, at Des Moines General Hospital.
Funeral services at Highland Park Christian Church with Rev James Robertson officiating. Internment at Highland Memory Gardens, DM. (Tower section, Lot 42C, Space #1) Memorials to his church.
Pallbearers were John, Todd, Mark, Michael, Jeff, Andy, Scott and Joseph Bethel; Matt and Chris McBee.
Honorary pallbearers were Marilyn Clem, Meredith Pore, Anna and Abbey McBee and Amy Bethel Rademacher.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel; twin sons, Donald of DM, Dr. David of Marshalltown: sons Thomas of Minneapolis and William of Ankeny; a daughter, Pamela Bethel McBee of Overland Park KS.
Mr Bethel was born December 17, 1918, in Milford IA and lived in DM most of his life. He had owned Rite-Way Pest Control, was an Army veteran and belonged to the DAV, American Legion, VFW, and Auburn Masonic Lodge.
