Second Lieutenant James E. Thompson was an Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) operator aboard B-52D serial number 55-0093, which crashed three miles south of Loring Air Force Base, Aroostook County, Maine on 29 July 1958. The crash killed 8 of 9 occupants.
