Came to US in 1885 with his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Hubenthal and their daughter, Margaret Elizabeth. They married in Hessen Germany, both at the age of 26. George was a farmer. They had twelve children of which 10 were living in 1910. They were Margaret Elizabeth, Henry, Karl, Annie, David, Mary, Wilhelm, George, Lizzie and Lillie.

George Wiegand, Sr., 83, moved to Gatesville, Texas in 1899. His daughter, Mrs. George Robinson of Ranger, was at his bedside at the time of his passing. Mr. George Wiegand was well known in Ranger and had made many friends while on these visits.
