He attended Seneca Vocational High school and served in the Army with the 180th Infantry in Europe during World War II. He was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
A sheet metal worker for more than 30 years, Mr. Kohlmeier was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 71. He retired in 1982.
An avid sportsman, he enjoyed fishing, including ice fishing, and hunting. He was a member of the Hamburg and Hanover gun clubs and was an award-wining trap shooter.
Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former Rita V. Talanoziewicz; two sons, Eric of East Eden and Kris of Angola; two daughters Gail Puffer of Dunkirk and Kristie Hulley of Springville and six grandchildren.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Addison Funeral HOme 262 N. Main St. Angola. Burial will be private.
