Gilbert Ray Clark was born Jan. 11, 1879 near Webster City IA and died April 10, 1946 at his home in Gotebo. He came to Oklahoma in 1897 and with his parents settled on a farm in Washita County, seven miles northwest of Gotebo. He resided in this vicinity until the time of his death, except for short intervals, which were spent in Beaver County and in the State of Washington.
He was married on Jan. 21, 1910 to Dora Bilbrey, who preceded him in death on Dec. 16, 1929. To this union six children were born. A son died in infancy. He is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Doris Heckman of Tulsa, Mrs. Ruby Erickson of Fresno CA; Miss Tressie Clark of Dallas TX, Mrs. Francis Merrill of Cloud Chief and Emogene Clark of the home; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Crawford and Mrs. Lella Thompson of Gotebo and Mrs. Grace Glover of Hobart; and one brother, Claud C. Clark of Sentinel.
