After the death of Nancy MARTIN ANDERSON, James ANDERSON married Elizabeth SHORT. James and Elizabeth were the parents of James M., Matilda L. CLEVELAND, and Andrew J. ANDERSON.
*************************************************
Nathaniel ANDERSON married Sarah HOLBROOK on 15 Aug 1837 in Murray County, Georgia. They were the parents of eight known children. These children were Franklin A., James Nathaniel, Henry S., Catherine WINKLE, Pleasant Pierce "Kern", Thomas, John William and Sarah Alice JOHNSON.
On 11 July 1877 Nathaniel married M. C. Thomson in Franklin County, Texas. It is evident that she had been married prior to her marriage to Nathaniel. At this time I do not know what her maiden name may have been, when or where she died or is buried.
Nathaniel shares a headstone at the Providence Cemetery with his wife Sarah. On the stone, his year of birth is given as 1812. Most researchers tend to agree that Nathaniel was not born in 1812. His parents married in 1813 and his age on census records show him to be younger than a 1812 birth year. A birth year of 1814 agrees with the census records and most researchers believe it to be the correct date.
Although some people list his name as James Nathaniel there is no indication that this is true. I believe that this confusion is due to an error on the part of the census taker where he was listed as James while living with his son James Nathaniel. As we all know, census takers made many mistakes when listing names.
