Born on March 8, 1719-20 in what is today Waterford, then a part of New London. He married first on January 27, 1743-4 to Grace Lester, daughter of Sergeant Daniel Lester Junior and Sarah (Brown) Lester. He married second to Judith (Maxson) , widow to Matthew Greene of Hopkinson, RI on Sept. 12, 1771. He married third to Susana, daughter of Eleanor and Mary (Clark) Truman of Southold, NY on April 14, 1791. David had a total of 12 children.

Capt. David Rogers was the son of Jonathan Rogers Jr. and Judith Potter. He was the husband of Grace Lester and also Mrs. Judith Greene.

Private in the 4th Regiment, Revolutionary War. Historian John R. Morgan reports that David's son, Ezekiel was the first burial in this cemetery. He also reports that one of David's grandsons, Paul Rogers was the last burial.
