W.H. Riley was born April 20, 1872 [death certificate gives dob as April 30, 1872] near Bloomfield, Indiana but was reared in Northeastern Arkansas by Christian parents. He was baptized by Brother E. N. George during a meeting conducted at Gainesville, Arkansas. During the same meeting Miss Susie Brittain was baptized. On November 7, 1889, Brother Riley was united in marriage to Miss Brittain. In September 1906 he began preaching and found considerable success in his labors as a minister of Christ. --Arkansas Angels, p. 56.
