Adella "Adell" Rose was the daughter of Peter Rose and Adelia Harford. Although a record of their marriage has not yet been found, other records indicate Adella married Eli Rood about 1881. Their first known child, Isophene (some records spell it Josephine), was born in Bunker Hill Township of Ingham County November 14, 1882. Their daughter Lorene was born in 1885 in Wheatfield Township of that county. Sons Elmer Carrey and Alva E. (some records spell it Ava), and daughter Lois were born in Calhoun County, Michigan in 1888, 1890, and 1892 respectively. Adella and Eli Rood also had son Lysle who died in 1898 in Dansville, Ingham County, at age 3, and daughter Eva Gale who died in the same place in 1897 age 6 months. Both are buried by Adell and Eli Rood in this cemetery.
In the 1920 census Adell was listed as Ruby A. Rood in the household of her son Elmer Carrey Rood in Lansing, Ingham County. It may be that Ruby was Adell's middle name. The record indicates Elmer had a baby daughter named Ruby. Isophene Rood was also living in that household. At the time of the 1930 census Adell was living with her son Alva/Ava E. in Lansing.
Lorene Rood married 1st Frank Steward Drake. Their son Dudley, born and died in 1906, is buried by Adell and Eli Rood in this cemetery. Lorene married 2nd Walter Albert Tomrell.
Elmer Carrey Rood married 1st Susie Jenison, 2nd Louise Raute or Route.
Alva/Ava E. Rood enlisted in the US Army in 1918 in Toledo, Ohio, during the time of WWI. He married Florence Goodrich in Lansing in 1920, but they appear to have divorced by 1930. Alva is buried in the Maple Ridge Cemetery in Holt.
Lois Rood married Walter Albert Tomrell. Their daughter Doris Dell was born and died in 1911, and is buried by Adell and Eli Rood in this cemetery. Lois and Walter divorced in 1916, and Walter married her sister Lorene.
