THE PARIS NEWS, Fri., Jan. 25, 1996, p. 16A: '(Picture) Timothy Clark Swofford, 45, of Las Vegas, NV died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1996, in Wadsworth Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, after a lengthy illness with leukemia. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 29, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home Chapel with Elmer L'Roy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Swofford was born June 28, 1950, in Abilene, the son of Jewell Doyle and Elsie Clark Swofford. He had worked in maintenance and had served in the Marine Corps. Surviving are his mother, Elsie Julian of Las Vegas; five sisters, Phalia Blassingame of Paris, Shari Rhodes of Los Angeles, Judy Young of Douglasville, GA, Elyn Kahn of Atlanta, GA and Robin Engels of Sussex, NJ; two brothers, Mark Swofford of Los Angeles and Christopher [Julian] of Houston. Pallbearers will be Wade Blassingame, Mark Blassingame, Jim Blassingame, Charles Young, Manuel Pecina and Scott O'Brien.'
