World War I
Charles Franklin Shryock, 82, Augusta, Kansas, died Sunday, March 7, at his home. He was a retired oil field contractor and had lived in Butler County, Kansas, since 1919, following military
service in the first World War.
Mr. Shryock was born May 20, 1893 in Jasper County. He was a member of the First Christian Church.
Surviving are the widow, Lnura; sons, Meredith of Crestline, Ohio and Robert and Sam of Augusta; daughter, Mrs. Jean Williams of Haysville; brother, Roy of Olney, sisters, Mrs. Grace
Morris of Vincennes, Indiana and Mrs. Stella Burton of Oblong; 16 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
One son Gerald, and three brothers preceded him in death.
Services and burial held last Tuesday in Kansas.
