Mary Rea Fox, an angel among us, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on March 1, 2010, to be with her husband, William "Bill" W. Fox. Mary, a true Southern Belle, was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she met Bill, a graduate of San Diego High School, who was in Charlottesville attending the University of Virginia. Mary was a near-lifetime resident of Point Loma and was active in the Children's Hospital Auxiliary, March of Dimes, and the Point Loma Optimist Club. Mary was full of life and enjoyed dancing with Bill, attending Chargers games, and spending time with her family and many friends. The family is very grateful to the staff at Cloisters of La Jolla for their warm and attentive care and for providing an excellent quality of life for Mom in her final years. Mary will be dearly missed by her three sons, William, Arthur and James, their wives, six grandchildren, a great-grand-child on the way, and all who knew her. A family service was held on March 2nd, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery, Mary's final resting place where she is to be reunited with Bill, her beloved husband, who passed away in 1996. In lieu of flowers or other kind remembrances, the family suggests a donation to Mary's favorite charity the Rady Children's Hospital Foundation.
