George graduated from Richfield High School and served in the CCC prior to serving in the Western States Mission for the LDS Church. He graduated from Weber State College in mechanics and welding. He entered military service with the US Army Air Corp and was stationed on the pacific island of Saipan during World War II.
He married Thora Stapley, March 12, 1943 in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death, September 27, 2009.
After the war, George worked in heating and air conditioning for Pearson & Crofts, eventually purchasing that portion of the business. After closing his business, he worked as a custodian for the LDS Church. Upon retiring, he and Thora served LDS missions to California San Jose, Cove Fort and the Manti Temple. He also served in various stake missions and in branch presidencies at Fish Lake and the Indian Branch, and held many other church callings throughout his life.
Family, outdoor activities, music and poetry were among his greatest loves. George enjoyed people and was very outgoing and friendly with everyone. Service was a priority in his life and he always taught by example.
