McBay, Thomas G., Jr., 79, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2010 in Tulsa, OK. Born September 11, 1930 in Springhill, AR to Thomas G. and Cora Maybell (Nations) McBay, Sr. Member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd. He has a successful business career in Tulsa starting in the summer of 1954 at Westinghouse Electric Lamp Plant in Little Rock, AR as Manufacturing Manager. In 1957 he was transferred to the Headquarters of the Lamp Division in Bloomfield, NJ to head up a section of the Quality Control Department. Later he was named Chief Engineer for the Little Rock plant. He was promoted to Works Manager of the Westinghouse Plant and Distribution Center in Trenton, NJ from which he resigned in 1969 and moved to Tulsa, Ok. Tom was Manager of the Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Control Departmenst at Unit Rig and Equipment Company and later managed the Assembly Department and Materials Planning Department before going into International Manufacturing. In 1984, he joined the staff at Tulsa Technology Business and Industry Training Services coordinating technical and management training for the state of Oklahoma and retiring from there in 1997. He provided leadership in numerous East Tulsa organizations, including East Tulsa Prevention Coalition, Cherokee Homeowners Association, South and East Alliance of Tulsa, and District 6 Community Council; and he developed a city-wide model for a neighborhood organization based around the feeder area of an elementary school. Tom organized and became the first president of the Cooper Neighborhood Association and by his positive role model affected the lives of numerous people in East Tulsa and throughout the city of Tulsa.
