E.W. Steele was born on April 17, 1939 in Warrior, Jefferson, Alabama, the sixth child of Euby Watson Steele (age 48) and Gertrude S. Sullivan (age 39). On May 1, 1958, when he was 19, he joined the Air Force. E.W. married Barbara Lorraine Erhart in Topeka, Shawnee, Kansas on October 31, 1959 when he was 20 and had a daughter, (still living) with her. He died on April 18, 2007 in Pace, Florida when he was 68 and was buried in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, Florida

STEELE, E. W. (1939-2007) 68, of Pace, passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2007. Mr. Steele was born in Warrior, Alabama and had resided in the Pace area for the past five years. He was a United States Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired truck driver. He was preceded in death by his parents, Euby Watson Steele and Gertrude Sullivan Steele, a sister Ola Mae Steele; and a brother E. J. Steele. Mr. Steele is survived by his daughter Terry Steele of Rolla, Missouri, three grandchildren, Kayla Marie Wilson of Rolla, Sheena Leigh Wilson of Higginsville, and Robert Monroe Wilson of Rolla; a brother John Steele of Pinson, Alabama; two sisters, Jeanette McCay of Birmingham, Alabama, and Ivolene Hangartner of Miami, Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside Funeral Services for Mr. Steele will be held at 12:30 pm on Monday, April 23, 2007 at the Barrancas National Cemetery with Rev. Charlie Elliott officiating, and Lewis Funeral Home directing.
