Melanie Kay Ellis, 53, passed away on March 6, 2010 in Colorado Springs.
Melanie was born on March 25, 1956 in Huron, South Dakota to Elmer and Rose (Pearson) Anderson.
Melanie served her country in the United States Army and also worked as a clerk for the U.S. Military for several years. She was sports fanatic and especially enjoyed bowling, hockey and Nascar racing.
She is survived by her husband, Fred Ellis; children, Fred Ellis, Jr. (Diana) and David Ellis (Casey); brothers, Steve and Tony (Connie) Anderson; sisters, Kathi Dunn, Karen Schley (Dareld) and Amy McKay (Mike); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 12, 2010 at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel, 1830 E. Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, Colorado with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. also at Evergreen Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
