Florence Mae (Rhodes) Hanson, 69 of Turtle Lake, Wisconsin died Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Amery Regional Medical Center in Amery, Wisconsin. She was born November 24, 1940 in the Town of Prairie Farm, Barron County, Wisconsin the daughter of Charles and Mabel (Tuftin) Rhodes. She grew up in the Arland Township area and graduated from Barron High School.
On April 3, 1959 Florence married Ronald Hanson at Stillwater, Minnesota. She and her husband farmed in the Township of Reeve, for a short time. They owned and operated several taverns in the area. He preceded her in death.
Florence enjoyed her time with her friend Roger. She also enjoyed traveling and reading. She liked spending time with her grandchildren and family. Florence was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in McKinley.
She is survived by; Mabel Rhodes (mother) of Arland Township, WI, Daniel Hanson (son) of Arland Township, WI James (Melody) Hanson (step-son) of Appleton, WI, Melissa Hanson (daughter) of Turtle Lake, WI, Patricia Swanson (step-daughter) of Rice Lake, WI, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren Marie Rhodes (sister) of Arland Township, WI Yvonne French (sister) of Hibbing, MN.
She was preceded in death by her father, husband, and 3 brothers.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Arland Township with Rev. Neal Weltzin officiating. Burial will be in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Turtle Lake.
