Treva Lee Alexander, 79, of Altus, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday in the Kincannon Memorial Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Burial will be in the Prairie Hill Cemetery, Southeast of Duke, under the direction of the Kincannon Funeral Home.
Treva was born Jan. 18, 1931, in Elk City to John Virgil and Audie (Penick) Marshall. She graduated from Altus High School in 1950. She attended Blackwood Davis Business College in Oklahoma City. She married Addison R. "Buddy" Alexander in Altus on Oct. 12, 1952. He passed away in 1985. Treva was an Air Force wife for 20 years, living in Reno, Nev., Clinton, Biloxi, Miss., Port Angeles, Wash., Berlin, Germany, Laredo, Texas, Tipton and Clinton, Okla. She moved back to Altus in 1987. She worked for the National Bank of Commerce for 20 years before retiring in 1993. Mrs. Alexander was a member of the Tamarack Road Church of Christ (formerly the Thomas Street Church of Christ). She loved reading, cooking, watching sports and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was involved in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts as an assistant leader when her children were young.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three sisters, Imogene Pike, Dorothy Rice and Reba Duncan; a brother, Leonard Marshall; six nephews, Billy John Marshall, Robert Hopkins, Barry Lynn Marshall, twins James Marshall and John Franklin Pike and Gary Rice; three brothers-in-law, James Pike, Ira Duncan and J.D. Alexander.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, John Alexander and Karen of Gallup of New Mexico; a daughter and son-in-law, Terri Brown and Dale of Tipton; a granddaughter, Jennifer Wolfe and her husband Mike of Tipton; four grandsons, Jeff Brown of Tipton, and Jacob, Jordan and Jared Alexander, all of Gallup; a great-granddaughter, Graicyn Lee Wolfe; three great-grandsons, Bryce Coronado and Colten and Nelson Wolfe, all of Tipton; one brother and sister-in-law, Lynn Marshall and his wife Lavena of Farmington, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Georgia Gateley of Weatherford, and Beverly Marshall of Enid; two brothers-in-law, Bruce Rice and his wife Gail of Duke, and Gene Alexander and his wife Betty of Crosby, Texas; a sister-in-law, Carol Alexander of Gillette, Wyoming; six nephews, Steve Pike and his wife Sharon of Tipton, Randy Rice and his wife Lea Ann, Dean Rice and his wife Kelli, and Vic Rice and his wife Julie, all of Duke, Mike Marshall and his wife Lynn, and Mark Marshall, all of Enid; four nieces, Diane Hall and her husband Gary of Altus, Glenna Graumann and her husband Johnny of Blair, Gwen Hopkins of Altus, and Jeannie Kilgora and her husband Jeff of Stevensville, Maryland; and a host of great-nephews, great-nieces and many, many close friends.
